My wife and I have taken two previous tornado chasing adventures. Both of those involved tour organizations using rented panel vans. Never again.
During our first tour in 2003, there was a man in the van who was a chain smoker. Every time we stopped (scheduled and unscheduled for his nicotine habit), he would return to the van reeking of cigarette smoke. During our second tour a year later, we had similar problem with a couple from South America who refused to bathe. On top of this, the travel time and distances between the "fixed" airport pick-up and return locations wasted almost four days of chasing. Calculating the cost points per day vs. Warren's adventure, the cost was similar, if not less. Warren also allowed me to change my originally scheduled date in late April to Mid-June due to a wedding. Had I signed up with another tour group, I would have lost my deposit.
In 2007 I (solo) chased with Warren Faidley towards the end of the season. His credentials and background were impecable. Viva la difference! Warren was able to customize my pick-up and departure locations so we did not waste a single day of chasing. In fact, Warren allowed me to stay an extra day for a higher risk of serious weather and it paid off. Being able to sit in the passenger seat made all the difference in the world. I actually felt like I was involved with a chase, rather than, another passenger in a rolling sardine can. There is no doubt I will chase with Warren again. To reiterate what others have said, he is the best out there.
