I have been a customer of Wilson products for as long as I have been chasing. (And that is a long time!) As most chasers will tell you, a good cellphone connection is a true life line. Besides being able to use a cell signal for data, as I do with my iPhone, the ability to have even one more signal bar in the middle of nowhere affords a comfortable feeling if I need to call for help, forward a severe weather alert, report an accident or make a hotel reservation on a busy weekday.

The two Wilson products I have used extensively over the last year (long before they advertised on our pages), has been their wireless mobile amplifier kit (they offer several types) in conjunction with their RV/Trucker roof mount cellular antenna. This antenna, although highly functional, looks really cool on my chase vehicle. I should note this antenna is available in several mounting types. Wilson also offers a cell phone cradle with a built-in antenna. The nice thing about this antenna is that it's incorporated into the entire system and does not require special adaptors for different phones.

After self-installing the mobile amplifier and antenna, (it's quite easy), I gave the system a test. In my garage, I normally have one bar of signal. After installing the amplifier, I could connect and disconnect the connector and watch the bars fluctuate up and down. I also tried this while parked on the side of the road waiting for the next storm. While actively chasing in 2008, across the country, it was very rare that I could not get some type of signal, even in bonafide dead zones.

For all these reasons, and the potentially life saving rewards of these products, Wilson Electronic Products receives a five star rating.
